American Idol S05E20 - Top 12

12! 12! 12!

stevie wonder... stevie wonder... stevie wonder...

we see the top 12's jourrney to... the top 12... the theme's tonight is stevie wonder. WHY!?!?!?!?!? and he met the top 12, and we see him meeting them.

1) ace - "do i do". ace cries when he talks about meeting stevie. didn't mario did it last season? yes, he did, and it was as good. in all actuallity (is that even a word?), it wasn't good, like at all. just... not that good. randy heard pitch problems, thought it was just a'ight, but liked the performance skills. paula's drunk, and thought he put everything into it. simon says he's lucky the audience is easily pleased, and called it a bit manic.

2) kellie - "blame it on the sun". she's not really familiar with stevie songs. she's SO cute! the dress is classy, but the hair/face looks wierd tonight. the accent is just so wrong for these kinds of songs. it was pretty bad. even worse than ace. randy called it a non-event, and it didn't work for him. he LOVES the shoes, though. paula's drunk. she called the song too safe, and missed the "razzle dazzle". simon says everything went wrong tonight, it was really boring, and something about the look and dolly parton. i dunno. kellie apologizes. lol! some funny "fake eyelashes" banter with ryan follows.

3) elliot - "knocks me off my feet". he REALLY cried when he sat and sang with stevie. he sing THAT song, sitting on a stool. GET IT??? HUH??? HUH??? something sounded wierd. i don't know if it's the song, or the singing, but something sounded odd. he's BUTT UGLY. by the middle of the song it got better, and the ending was really good. best yet, but that a'int hard. randy didn't think it was his best, cause he didn't really bring anything new to the song. paula loved that he cried next to stevie. and she kept on rambling. simon thinks it didn't have the wow factor, but still was best yet.

COCA COLA! mandisa says it's intense, and she wants to bring her a-game. and her feet hurt. she's gonna perform bare feet. and ryan talks about her ankles.

4) mandisa - "don't you worry 'bout a thing". she says stevie is "kind of a staple". when they all sang with stevie, she crouched under the piano. ??? the start was kinda off, in some way. it was good, but something was missing. i don't know what, but i wasn't feeling it. randy thought she had better performances, but it was the best so far. paula says she can sing anything. simon also thinks it's the best so far. i guess it was kinda good...

5) bucky - "superstition". he's never really listened to stevie songs. but, after listening to the song he's gonna do, he wants to buy all his albums. the movement was a bit awkward. his timing was off at times, but it was interesting! which is more than you can say about most performances so far. he sang to hard, like randy told him after his first performance. randy liked the song choice. he thought it wasn't the greatest vocal performance, but he enjoyed it. paula enjoyed hearing him singing stevie, and thinks he was really good. simon thought it was one of his best. but thinks his hair style was "jessica simpson"-esque. some odd hair banter follows.

COCA COLA! something about something. and olive oil.

6) melissa - "lately". she messed the lyrics infront of stevie. and he was funny! lol! and she tells us to watch out, "'cause here comes melissa in a dress". who? and she FUCKED THE LYRICS UP, AGAIN! AND BIG TIME! AND TWICE! and she changed "i'm a man of many wishes" to "i have many many wishes"! and she effed up again! and even when she sang the right words, it didn't sound good. BAD... and dull. randy thinks she can sing. paula thinks she's beatiful. and there's something soothing about her voice, and she did a really nice job. simon thought it was her best performance so far. huh? she keeps apologizing about messing the words.

7) lisa - "signed, sealed, delivered i'm yours". she too cried when she met stevie. and she'll try to do him proud. the band was too loud for her. the arrange,ent wasn't good. the high note in the middle was TERRIBLE! but overall, it was ok. kinda fun, but then again not (really). randy thought the hottest part was the end. paula's psychic. and she rambles. simon thought it was one of the best tonight. he thought it was great, and he loved it. HUH???

COCA COLA! kevin loves the fans that have kevin signs. and he gets one.

8) kevin - "part-time lover". he was a "bit" nervous when he met stevie. he tries to makes thesong "sexy", and says something about being the sex symbol this season. he's just so dorky! it was really funny hearing him sing this song. it wasn't good, by any means, but it was definitely entertaining. the performing part SUCKED! lol! randy's laughing. he loves him, and keeps laughing. he didn't expect him to sing in tune and well. KEVIN'S WEARING MAKEUP!!! AAAHHH!!! he thought it was definitely anjoyable. paula loves that stevie wanted to squish him. paula's pround. i think. simon thought it was appalling. LOL! to that, kevin responds he wasn't expecting much from him any how. LOL!

9) katharine - "until you come back to me". she was in awe when stevie entered the room. stevie thinks aretha wouldn't mind her singing it, and knows stevie doesn't mind. her look is wierd. the higher parts were either off or wierd, i'm not sure which. but the performance, as a whole, was really good! i liked it! a lot! randy thinks she was off the chain, and it was hot, and she was da bomb. paula rambles. simon says she's good. and she's starting to remind him of kelly.

10) taylor - "living for the city". he says stevie is an american idol, and as a kid he tried to play harmonica like stevie. GREAT song choice for him. i missed the throaty "for the citaaaaaaaay" of the original. there was a break in the singing that was way too long. and he does the whole spastic dancing. still. there wasn't nearly enough singing in those 90 secs. BUT, it was really good! not his best, and not the best tonight, but really good! randy loved that it was hot, and he was fearless. paula loves the parkinson's dance moves. simon says his appeal is that he's like every dad that's got drunk on a wedding and sang, but the difference is he can sing. OMG! that was SPOT ON! ryan heard a rumor that a hair stylist wanted to change taylor's hair color. taylor doesn't want to reveal anything. ha. ha. ha.

11) paris - "all i do". she too cried when she sang for stevie. stevie sees a great future for her. the start was the best part, and it got a bit worse after that, but it stayed quite good. not as good as her train to georgia, and not the best tonight, but still pretty good. randy thought she was unbelieveable. paula calls her a seasoned veteran. SHE'S 17! simon thought the first half of the night was alright, and the second half brilliant. he says the performance was very good. and she keeps singing as ryan asks her questions. that's annoying. then ryan sings. that's funny.

12) chris - "higher ground". THIS is a stevie song? i thought it was a red hot chili peppers number... yeah, laugh all you want! YEAH! chris was worried about finding a good song for him.chris also wasn't aware this is a stevie song, but he heard the rhcp version. YEAH! and he's going to try and mix both version. AWESOME! BRILLIANT! TERRIFIC! randy calls him baby. he thinks it's cool that every week he makes it his own. and he worked it out. paula never worries. that's the drugs, probably. smon says "thank god for chris". nuff said. again he said it's the only real world performance, and that it was the best tonight, by a mile.
