baby carrie's cute! the theme's year they were born.
1) nadia - "when i dream" by crystal gayle. BAD song choice. the fro's out of control. the performance was absolutely average, in every sense of it. just everything about it was average. not bad, not particularly good either. just, average. that's bad, if you were wondering.
2) bo - "free bird" by lynyrd skynyrd. GREAT song choice. bo's short for bogart! ha! they had to put an eagle in the background, didn't they? he managed to get a slow part, and the change to the fast part in, but that's it. and that's the problem with songs so long, it just doesn't work in 90 seconds. it was a affected, vocally that is, which is a first for him. BUT! i LOVE the song, and i LOVED the performance. on the other hand, he really needs to stop walking with the mic stand. simon's actually a bit right, that song IS sacred, but i think he did the song well.
3) anwar - "i'll never love this way again" by dionne warwick. wierd song choice... guys take note, this is how to smile at the camera with out scaring the straight guys away. i thought it was pretty good, again not as good as he's been in the semifinals, but still pretty good. when he answers ryan, he has a mic in his hand, yet speaks into ryan's mic. odd...

4) anthony - "everytime you go away" by paul young. not the song i thought it was (choice). i am FREAKED OUT! when he was sitting, it looked like his trache hole was oozing some black puss, but it turned out to be just his necklace. it was a'ight. not really digging it, or him for that matter, but it was alright. he should be gone, like yesterday.

5) vonzell - "let's hear it for the boy" by deniece williams. good song choice. that top was so wierd. hot, but wierd. very fun. paula dancing was a let down. but the performance was very good. and fun. did i mention it was fun? it was fun! simon's right, but he keeps on comparing contestants to each other, when they are, mostly, different. blech.
6) scott - "she's gone" by hall & oates. appropriate (?) song choice. lol at the intro clip starting too soon, it being rolled back, and then starting again. lol! he used to rock out as a baby scotty. that is, before he started beating his wife/gf. paula's dancing again. she really shouldn't. not because this performance wasn't good enough to warrant it, though it was, but because she just shouldn't dance. ever. i hate her. it was just ok. i REALLY hate paula. she has the worst laugh ever. i HATE her.

7) carrie - "love is a battlefield" by pat benatar. problematic song choice. theintro clip was cute too! well, at least she tried. i mean, she moved around, and PERFORMED for the audience, at least somewhat. and she sang it well and all. but it's jst not her. that being said, i LOVE her, so the performance was good, for me. the kick to end it was so adorable! "carrie rocks out, carrie rocks out" "carrie tries" LOL! i didn't notice any fumbling of words. simon's comment was funny, yet again. *after watching it back, i honestly can't find any sign of fumbled lyrics, not by her expressions/body-language or from what i can tell she's singing. whatever. her body language was totally hot, btw...
8) constantine - "bohemian rhapsody" by queen. TOUGH song choice. for anyone keeping track, this was the fraude "rocker"'s 1st (FIRST!!!) rock song in the competition. he moans. i hate to admit it, but everything about it was brilliant. from the arrangement, to the singing, sorta, to the performing. i hate him, but he WAS da bomb. i am no longer freaked out by constance. of course, that'll come back next week. paula's high. and the way she jumps up when simon said it was astonishing. ugh. i hate her.
