10... (MIKALAH'S GONE!)
the theme tonight is... 90's! i was born less than a year into this decade, but that doesn't mean i will know any of the songs today...
1) bo - "remedy" by the black crowes. bo doesn't remember the 90s because of all the drugs. he didn't really say that, but you know. he's still walking with the mic stand. the cow(boy) hat is really wierd. but him leaving it on paula's head was kinda cool. the performace was cool. pretty good. i kinda dug it.
2) jessica - "on the side of angels" by leann rimes. i don't know. vocally it was just a'ight, and i didn't feel her enough to improve on that. she didn't really do anything either, performance-wise. could, and should, be a LOT better.
3) anwar - "i believe i can fly" by r. kelly. except for last week's blunder, relatively, he always manages to come up with unique arrangements for the songs he performs, assuming of course that he's the one arranging them. i thought it was pretty good. not the best we've heard of him, but still pretty good. paula said "i can believe i can fly". twice. she's so high and stupid.
4) nadia - "i'm the only one" by melissa etheridge. she used to be bald? finally, she does a rock song. i have to admit, i'm not a big nadia fan, but on this song she did a good job. some pitch problems, but still, i really liked it.
5) constantine - "i can't make you love me" by bonnie raitt. fraude. how dare he do the song carrie auditioned with?!? i HATE him. carrie was better. that being said, he was very good. a fraude. but very good. the look at the end freaked me out. even randy thinks he's a fraude.
6) nikko - "can we talk" by tevin campbell. the dancing at the beginning was awful. so was the jacket. i don't know. i want to like nikko. but after some great semifinals performances, it seems like he has yet to arrive at the finals. maybe it's the whole you're out, no you're in thing that threw him off... just alright.
7) anthony - "something about the way you look tonight" by elton john. he should really, REALLY stop with the ballads, despite the "rock" ending. AND, he should really perform songs that weren't already performed on idol. AND, he should start actually being good, and not just alright, otherwise he doesn't have a chance in hell to win. i HATE paula.
8) carrie - "independence day" by martina mcbride. lol! carrie's intro clip was funny... she's definitely not the best performer, but she is one of the best singers. i REALLY liked it. it's more than that. i LOVED it. it's nice of her to recognise the band's help. i LOVE her. she's so cute!
9) scott - "one last cry" by brian mcknight. scotty the body? really? rickey was better. that pretty much says everything. jk. it wasn't great, but it was alright. if carrie's the best female singer (she is), then he's probably the best/2nd best male singer, with anwar maybe being better than him. it was alright.
10) vonzell - "i have nothing" by whitney houston. she's a black belt?!?!?! i will no longer say anything bad about the vonz. i HATE this song. i really, really do. don't love the curly-ish hair (sorry). the performance was really good. really really good. it was so good, it was great.
