finally, we are down to 12 finalists.
there's a new, HUGE stage, with a bigger everything.
but first, some news - mario has withdrawn from the competition, and will be replaced by nikko. why did he do it? probably to control how his music sounded, thinking that he has got enough attention so far to be able to launch a successful career. we'll see about that, when we look back at how the contestants did since the season ended.
COCA COLA! tonight they perform music from the 60s. yay! constance and bo do the twist. sorta.
1) jessica - "shop around" by smokey robinsn & the miracles. it's official - she's a skank. hooker. whore. call it what you may, but with a song that basically says she goes around, that's exactly what she is. the jacket was butt ugly. it was just ok.
2) anwar - "a house is not a home" by dionne warwick. it was good. not as good as he usually is, and both tamyra AND ruben already sang it, but it's still pretty good.
3) mikalah - "son of a preacher man" by dusty springfield. i HATE HER. i really do. and it sucked. i HATE HER.
4) constantine - "you've made me so very happy" by blood, sweat & tears. yep. he's still a fraude. it was so bland. the last note was awful. i dunno... i think i hate him.
5) lindsey - "knock on wood" by eddie floyd. the PERFORMANCE part of it was just terrible. fantasia sang it just so much better. vocally below average. i'm tired. and bored.
6) anthony - "breaking up is hard to do" by neil sedaka. i'm freaked out. he really doesn't appeal to me, but then again, he's not trying to do that, instead going for the teen boppers that are teenage girls. it was boring. and not very good.
7) nadia - "you don't have to say you love me" by dusty springfield. 2 dusty's? what happened to the rocker girl? finally. someone that doesn't suck. she looks good. and sounded very good. i liked it. what more, mikalah sang it in hollywood week, and it was stuck in my head, and nadia was just oh so much better. simon gives the wierdest comments. ever! and somehow, they make sense, and are somewhat cool!
8) bo - "spinning wheel" by blood, sweat & tears. both "rockers" picked a blood, sweat & tears song? huh? what's with walking with the mic stand in hand. for all future "rockers" - THIS is how you can avoid being a fraude. adtually rock, and don't smile all the time. or at all. LOVED IT.
9) vonzell - "anyone who had a heart" by dionne warwick. she looks GREAT. she sounded very good. i remember someone singing this one before, but i don't remember who. i do know s/he sang it better, though... still very good.
10) scott - "ain't too proud to beg" by the temptations. ruben did it. he was obviously better (ruben). not bad. the performance side of things really needs to improve. right now, after janay left, he's probably the worst performer.
11) carrie - "when will i be loved" by the everly brothers. I LOVE HER. love the country on the everly brothers. FEEDBACK! could improve her performing, but vocally it was great. i loved it. lol at carrie's reaction to simon saying he'll be nice. CUTE!
12) nikko - "i want you back" by the jackson 5. the worlds first boy band (?), with their biggest, best song (?). their only entrance to the rolling stone's top 500 song in history. and they rocked it out. nikko was just ever so slightly a'ight. better than most tonight, but that's not that hard...
