tonight's theme you ask? why, it's gloria estefan! my god, this is going to suck... and she's going to judge too... the backing band for this episode will be the miami soind machine.
1) fantasia - "get on your feet". this type of music to me is like country to simon. i just don't get it. i just dunno. i guess it was pretty good. too much "we love you jennifer" and "come on, get up" for me. the judges have to decide what exactly the competition is all about. every time it's some thing else - singing, performing, making america vote... WHAT EVER!!! lol. "a lot of people tell me i look like bugs bunny...". "waaan". lol.
2) george - "live for loving you". the performance was funny, more than anything else. not ridiculous, but funny. much better than last week's. he squated again. i have a feeling most performances tonight will be exactly that - PERFORMANCES, rather than SINGING.
paula's laugh is just SO annoying.
3) latoya - "rhythm is gonna get you". she dances. the lights were a bit blinding. one of her weaker performances. t'was just a'ight. the hair pressed against the skull was odd. there was a whole part thee where she didn't sing, at all, just danced.
the top 6 "worked" at a subway. terrible. awful.
4) john - "music of my heart". even worse than the "subway" thing. just terrible. quite possibly the worst performance, this side of the semifinals.
5) jasmine - "here we are". no flower? her voice cracked. pitchy all the way through. just not good. 7 out of 10? seriously?
6) diana - "turn the beat around". i HATE this song. the dress was hot. but i think i'm starting to dislike this girl. not great, but tonight even that could be one of the better performances. seemed longer than 90 seconds.
