tonight's theme is barry manilow.yay. and barry's the guest judge. we see him working with the top 7.
1) diana - "one voice". the song kelly, clay, ruben and the rest of last season's finalists, minus corey and josh, sang in the second day of the finale last season. pretty good. it was kinda cheesey, but it's a cheesey song. didn't really care for it that much.
2) george - "tryin' to get the feeling again". i completely disagree with barry. the vocal gymnastics were just waaaaay too much. it's just distracting. one of my least favourite huff performances.
3) jennifer - "weekend in new england". really, really good. best yet. not her best, but still a great performance.
the australian idol is in the audience, as are some stars from some fox series.
4) jasmine - "i'll never love this way again". i hate this song. her air intakes at the first part were really annoying. one of her best performances, but that still doesn't put her in the same level as the three divas, who i think are the clear front-runners in the competition.
5) latoya - "all the time". this is what i meant. great. just great.
6) john - "mandy". ugh. when are we gonna get rid of this horror? i just don't feel like talking about his performance... just, ugh.
7) fantasia - "it's a miracle". she does a song called "it's a miracle" in a church-like style? SHOCKING!!! too church-y for my white jewish ass. the ending was just too much. still better than most.
