tonight's theme is movie soundtracks. right. paula has the worst laugh ever. we also get a guest judge in... quentin tarantino? huh?
1) george - "against all odds (take a look at me now) from against all odds, by phil collins. his favourite movie is the wiz. well, somebody had to do it, it might as well be him... it was a'ight, nothing more.
2) jennifer - "i have nothing" from the bodyguard, by whitney houston. her fave movie is sister act 2. there were sme breath-y parts that made me squirm a little. otherwise quite good. not as good as last week, but still good.
quentin gets more and more annoying. and stupid.
3) jon - "jailhouse rock" from jailhouse rock, by elvis presley. his fave movie is dead poets society. impressive. aaand he's back to elvis and spastic dancing. great... forgot the lyrics for a sec. lol at randy bobbing his head. not great, by any means, but I LOVED IT! simon's confused. GREAT!
4) diana - "my heart will go on" from titanic, by celine dion. her fave film is bowfinger. and the "cute" little girl picked the song from titanic. great... and she's proud to do it. right. the arrangement was just plain wierd. didn't like it. at all. nothing original about it too. worst yet.
5) fantasia - "summertime" from porgy and bess. her fave film is finding nemo. LOL. omg. no. way. every single thing about that was superb. i was giving a standing o, but you can't really see that... i don't think it was THE best idol performance ever, but it's certainly up there. lol at simon's lips comment.
6) jasmine - "when i fall in love" from sleepless in seattle, by celine dion and clive griffin. the hawaiin's fave film is lilo and stitch. right. the phrasing wasn't that good. the pointing at the end was plan bad. t'was a'ight. nuthin' mo'e.
quentin's now completely lost his mind and is speaking in paula-isms. neil sedaka's in the audience. did he say "you're delicious" or "ear-delicious"?
7) john - "as time goes by" from casablanca. his fave film is aladin. aaaaaand... he croons again. it is just sooo much better when he actually sings something he can. what an improvement over the past couple of weeks. it's still not that great, but soo much better for him. lol at the "llok of panic".
we get to see the contestants "getting ready for a night out", by taking a bath and singing. ugh. lol at everything after ryan says "kill cowell". lol.
8) latoya - "somewhere" from west side story. her fave film is also finding nemo. pretty great. not "summertime", but still really great.
