tonight's theme is country. yay.
1) diana - "a broken wing" by martina mcbride. didn't love the arrangement. loved the ending. the ending was great. we get some humorous (that's got to be wrong...) back-and-forth's between simon and paula/randy/ryan.
steve young, from the sf 49ers is in the audience.
2) george - "i can love you like that" by john michael montgomery. lol at the "sgt. pepper" george. you can't take a popish ballad, add violins, and just call it country. very good. lol. "watch out, you keep that up, you're gonna end up looking like me" "you look good ryan" "nah, i got a pink hankerchif (how do you write that?) in my pocket" LOL
3) fantasia - "always on my mind" by willie nelson. brilliant. not really country, but still brilliant. either one of two things happen - either her vibrato is so strong it move her jaw, or the movement of the jaw does the vibrato, neither of which are that good. lol at "you don't know class". and she can "get down wit da get down". lol. and then she gets "pissed". LOL.
we are treated to yet ANOTHER viewing of the paula-simon open mouthed kiss. some puppies were murdered. an angel lost its wings.
4) john - "king of the road" by roger miller. he's pink! and, with the straightest face ever, he says he's coming out of his shell. and he managed to turn country week to crooning week. just not that good. and he forgot the lyrics. that walking away thing was terrible.
5) camile - "desperado" by the eagles. LOVE this song. she looked pretty bad tonight. too much vibrato. didn't like it on her. and i thought it would be great for her. hmph... i think paula, deep down, want's to be black.
6) jennifer - "no one else on earth" by wynonna judd. now, she looks good. i kinda liked it. nothing really wrong about it, but also nothing really great.
7) jon - "she believes in me" by kenny rogers. it was just ok. maybe less than that. lol at the face he did when ryan said "but the same, jon peter lewis".
8) jasmine - "breath" by faith hill. didn't get it. at all. it might have been good, but it was so dettached.
9) matt - "amazed" by lonestar. i keep thinking about paul mccartney's "maybe i'm amazed". wierd. i thought it was really good. very enjoyable. lol at everything that happened after simon started talking. lol.

10) latoya - "ain't goin' down ('til the sun comes up)" by garth brooks. i think they even used the same video behind her that they did when josh sang this song last season. i just really don't like this song. it was very good, but the song is just, ARGH! ryan "watches" simon every once in a while.
the top 11 went to a line dancing lesson. wow...
11) amy - "sin wagon" by the dixie chicks. what a god awful song. it just sucks. i didn't get it. paula's crazy. and amy's really happy simon doesn't have a clue what to say.
