and it's the start of the themes! tonight's - soul? huh?
lol... "stealing our women" lol... and when ryan says the only woman simon would never get is paula, simon says "wanna bet?" lol... and ryan called randy aerodynamic. lol.
1) latoya - "ain't nobody" by chaka khan. what happened to her hair!?!?!? it was good and all, but i just wasn't that into it. i wouldn't call that song soul, tough...
2) amy - "you make me feel brand new" by the stylistics. she's crazy. like, insane. she, as did latoya before, btw, just stood so far from the audience... nothing in the way of preforming the song. i just was not excited about it, at all. lol... it IS funny watching her package.
3) matt - "hard to handle" by otis redding. he plays flag-football. we get the pleasure of watching him have a bubble bath. gross. it was fun. he actually performed for the crowd. it was nice... he's a funny guy. the whole simon part was LOLing...
4) camile - "son of a preacher man" by dusty springfield. she snores. her mother wanted her to be a doctor. right. i actually liked it. the song really fit her voice. i thought it was pretty cool.
5) jon peter - "drift away" by dobie gray. last season this song was country rock, now it's soul? he also wants to be a doctor. and can draw. he's still got this inexplicable accent when he sings. he was drowned by the backing track. left the sastic dancing at home. mostly. he should concetrate more on actually singing... it was fun. nice. and then his father danced.
6) fantasia - "singed, sealed, delivered i'm yours" by stevie wonder. LOVE the suit. LOVE the fact that she sang this song. great. just great. simon called her fantazia.
7) george - "(sittin' on) the dock of the bay" by otis redding. he's from na-orlens. again, great. just great.
8) jennifer - "baby, i love you" by aretha franklin. she sang "just ax me". i doubt aretha sang that. she still needs to learn how to control her voice. but good. really good.
9) john - "lately" by stevie wonder. remember how clay always wore suits, and it was kinda cool? well, clay's 24(5?), and johnny boy here's 16! 16! sooooo boring. pitchy (?). just not that good. what will happen when he actually has to sing something not so painfully slow? randy's the only one that's right.
10) leah - "you keep me hangin' on" by the supremes. LOVE the straight hair. she went to the same school as JIMI HENDRIX!!! AWESOME!!! she's still trying too much, as far as performing go. really not good. and i was rooting for her, cause she's cute and all... :(
11) jasmine - "inseperable" by natalie cole. k-lo sang it last season. she's SINGLE... HAND GESTURES!!! ARGH!!!! it was good, but no that interesting. just ok, for me.
12) diana - "think" by aretha franklin. she's "cute". right. pretty good. not as enthusiastic as the judges. but still, very good.
did they really think it was a good idea to do a soul week with 8 total white boys and girls and hawaiin girls, and only 4 black boy and girls?

ps - wierd names!!! woohoo!!! leah's last name is vladowski, or something like that, labelle's her middle name, so that's one. eric YODER? erskine? vulaca that's pronounced vulatha? jesus? not "h"esus, but jesus. right. tiara purifoy? where do i begin? jonah moananu? com'on! kara master? charly? latoya? fantasia? as in the disney movie, right? all in all, and not including the peculiar name of jpl, we have 11 wierd names. 11! out of 32!
